Rev. Ntim Fordjour calls for unity in Assin South Constituency
The Member of Parliament-elect for Assin South in the Central Region, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has called on Assinman (people of Assin) to unite after the general election, to move the constituency forward.
In the Parliamentary elections, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), obtained 14,899, Mr Stephen Kofi Baidoo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) got 13,354 and Mr Joseph Kofi Damtse, an Independent candidate, had 10,332.
Total valid votes cast is 38,585, and the total rejected ballot was 557.
Mr Ebenezer Opoku Boateng, Returning Officer for the Electoral Commission, declared Rev. Ntim Fordjour as MP-elect for the constituency.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour said with the election over, it was time for the people of Assinman to take stock of what transpired before, during and after the elections, forgive one another and help work to promote the constituency for more development.
The MP-elect further indicated that their indifferences in the constituency was what made him stronger and that by working together, they could achieve more development.
He told them to work together to build a constituency that was just, equitable and peaceful.
Rev. Ntim Fordjour thanked God for the victory and appreciated the people in the constituency for the confidence reposed in him. -GNA
