Schelle Purcell of Tyler Perry’s Straw fame visits Ghana
Iconic movie writer, director, and actress, Schelle Purcell, will make a historic visit to Ghana this week.
The landlady named “Gloria” in Tyler Perry’s Netflix blockbuster, Straw, will join women Changemakers in Ghana for the International Ladies High Tea & Awards on Sunday,, September 21, at the Estees Bee Event Centre, East Legon.
The International Ladies High Tea & Awards is a global vision that celebrates, inspires, empowers, and networks women to maximise their uniqueness and fulfill purpose.
“This is our maiden edition of the International Ladies High Tea & Awards in Ghana, and it promises to be an unforgettably exciting experience,” the Founding President of RAIN Foundations, Author Ralph Antwi, said.
Among other interesting things, there will be a moderated panel discussion, including Q&A with attendees. The main topic to be discussed is celebrating, manifesting, and maximising womanhood.
Over 40 Changemakers across the regions of Ghana would be honoured at the event with medals and certificates of achievement. They will also have the opportunity to participate in the 2026 International editions in Europe and America.
The Europe Edition of the International Ladies High Tea & Awards 2026 will be hosted in Paris on February 14, 2026. Honourees from the Ghana Edition can use this special occasion to network with their fellow Changemakers in Europe.
Schelle Purcell is expected to arrive with Dr Muriam Cinevert and Dr Shaneque Metellus, two women leading change in America.
