The Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Mr Ken Gilbert Adjei, yesterday inaugurated an ultra-modern 24-hour premium and Express Service Centre for the State Housing Company (SHC) Limited in Accra, with a call on the state housing developer to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to clients nationwide.

The Centre, named after the late former Managing Director, Dr Samuel Sarpong, was established in recognition of his revolutionary vision and commitment to innovation during his tenure at the company.
The facility, which aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy, is designed as a one-stop service centre to process all client requests, eliminating the need for customers to visit the Lands Commission for further land documentation searches.
In addition, the Centre provides instant inquiries and real-time assistance, one-on-one consultations, express processing of requests and documentation, as well as a dedicated support service for estate purchases and project updates.
Inaugurating the facility at the Ring Road West South Industrial Area in Accra, Mr Adjei commended the SHC Board and management for the innovation, describing it as a significant step towards revolutionising service delivery and contributing to efforts to reduce the country’s housing deficit.
He reiterated government’s commitment to delivering affordable housing to Ghanaians across the country in partnership with SHC, which he described as the nation’s builder that has set the pace in quality housing delivery over the past seven decades.
Mr Adjei said the era where customers experienced delays in accessing the company’s services was now over, with the opening of the Centre that allows clients to access services around the clock.
The Managing Director of SHC, Mr John S. Bawah, announced plans to redevelop various estates in Accra as part of the government’s Accra Redevelopment Agenda aimed at modernising the metropolis and replacing ageing infrastructure.
He said the company had put in place strategies to educate clients and allay fears that the redevelopment exercise was intended to dislodge them from their properties.
Mr Bawah therefore urged property owners to regularise their tenancy and lease agreements with the company to ensure a smooth redevelopment process.
Also present at the ceremony was the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mrs Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, who is currently serving as Legal Counsel to President John Dramani Mahama.
