SO-Ghana team back from Abu Dhabi
The gallant team of the Special Olympics (SO) Ghana has returned from the just ended Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi, Dubai.
Ghana won two gold medals in athletics and football.
Hannah Dantakar run a time of 29.59secs to beat St Kitts and Nevis’ Tanique Richards to grab gold in women’s 200m.
The week-long games, which started on March 14 at Zayed Sports City Stadium, saw Joseph Tettey Amertowasi also winning gold in the men’s 100m with a time of 13.13s to wrap up Ghana’s involvement in the games.
Speaking to the press at the airport, the Board Chairman of Special Olympics Ghana, ACP (rtd) Augustine Kokukorkor described the whole events as a success.
The Special Olympics World games is a sporting event organized for children living with intellectual disability.
