Takyi, Dogbetor headline ‘Street 2 Champions Fight Night’

2020 Olympic Games Bronze Medalist, Samuel Takyi, will headline the “Street 2 Champions fight night,” put together by ACE Power Promotions (APP) on November 16, when he faces a yet to be named Nigerian opponent.

The fight set for the Centre Point Mall, Atomic Junction in Accra, according to the promotors promises to be full of fireworks as it also features Ghana boxing future world title prospects and the current IBF inter-continental African featherweight champion, Holy ‘jaw breaker’ Dogbetor, who comes face to face with Tanzanian pugilist, Kasimu Hamad Haji, in a featherweight bout with super flyweight boxer, Mohammed Aryeetey, coming up against Wilson Asamoah.

Speaking to the Times Sports, the General Manager of APP, Mr Isaac Amankwaah, said the event would also draw some of Ghana’s finest amateur boxers who will be on hand to entertain boxing fans.

According to him, “Boxing has become a means to an end for a lot of young people in the coastal areas and we want to help them realise their dreams. That is why we have created street to champions to pick these young people from the street and give them a sense of purpose and in so doing take them away from social vices”.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Centre Point Mall, Mr Bhagwan Asnani stated that his team was ready to give boxing fans a thrilling event of their lifetime
