The Cuba Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs Annette Chao Garcia, expressed excitement about Team Cuba’s victory, adding that the overall goal was to promote good inter-cultural practices, build strong relationship and strengthen bonds between Ghanaian professionals and Cubans in Ghana.
“We know that baseball is one of the biggest games in Cuba, and we also know that sports is one of the activities which promotes togetherness, so we decided to play baseball to strengthen bonds and promote everlasting friendship between Cuba and Ghana,” Mrs Garcia said.
Mr Hugo Banzini, a Coordinator and Sports Development Agent and a Cuba trained Sports and Physical Therapist, stated that the event had achieved its purpose of bringing many Cuba trained professionals and Cubans in Ghana together.
Mr Banzini, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Greater Accra Baseball and Softball Association (GRABSA), says plans were far advanced to engage the Cuban professionals in order to help develop the game.
