Tema MCE urges WASSCE candidates to render good account of their investment

The Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, Mrs Ebi Bright, has urged West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) candidates writing this year’s examinations to render a good account of the investment in their education by coming out with good results.
Mrs Bright indicated that good results would enable them to pursue their future career courses or programmes at the tertiary level.

She made these remarks during her rounds in the company of the Metro Education Director, Mrs Bernice Ofori, and other Directors to monitor the ongoing WASSCE Oral Paper at the Chemu Secondary School in Tema.
Other schools taking part in the examination in the Metropolis include Our Lady of Mercy SHS, Presbyterian Senior High Senior, Manhean Senior Technical Secondary and Tema Technical Institute.
The Mayor reminded the candidates that government had begun the implementation of the free fee policy at the tertiary level for first year students but only those who pass their exams would enjoy it.
Mrs Bright advised them to avoid exam malpractices because it can lead to exam cancellation.
‘‘You can only achieve good results by proper preparation and being focused on what you have learnt at school, but not through exam malpractices because that can lead to your papers’ cancellation,’’ she advised.
Mrs Ofori said in all, 1,985 candidates from seven schools, comprising five public and two private schools, were participating in this year’s examinations in the Metropolis, and since the beginning of the practical, there had not been any reported absenteeism.
The Director urged teachers, invigilators, and students to keep to the rules of the examination so that no malpractice would be recorded at the end of the one month long examination exercise.
She advised the candidates to desist from roaming due to the intervals between exams, but rather have enough rest and adequately prepare for the other papers.
