Teshie Homowo football festival fixed for May 13
Adesa Sporting Consult, a sports agency, is set to roll out a three-month football festival at Teshie from May 13-August 6 at the Teshie Gonnor School Park.
The event to coincide with the Homowo celebration of the Teshie people, is geared at supporting talented footballers and foster unity among themselves.
Speaking to the TimesSports, Nii Adesa said “We have the talent here but there’s no one to nurture those talents.”
“Teshie is a hub for footballers, but most of them are fading out because there is no support. We believe through this initiative, we can support them to realise their dreams.”
He said prizes will be given to the winners as well as the first and second runner-ups, the best player, top scorer and best goalkeeper.
The event will be graced by ex-footballers, top scouts and some traditional leaders at Teshie who have thrown their weight behind the event.
It will be preceded by a curtain-raiser involving some selected juvenile clubs competing in the U-15 and U-17 colts’ league at Teshie.
