Vice President rallies support for Black Stars

The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has assured the Black Stars of the full support of the government and the people of Ghana as they prepare to participate in the World Cup tournament.
Leading a high-powered delegation to visit the national team ahead of the competition, she expressed confidence in the players’ ability to make the nation proud and urged them to compete with determination, discipline and excellence.
The visit served as a morale booster for the team as they wrapped up their final preparations for the tournament.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang conveyed the goodwill of President John Dramani Mahama, the government and the people of Ghana, stressing that Ghanaians across the country were united in their support for the team.
She said Ghanaians from every region, community and household were rallying behind the Black Stars and were confident that they would represent the country well.
The delegation included representatives of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, led by Daasebre Otuo Siriboe II, officials of Ghana’s High Commission headed by Ambassador Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, and executives of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) led by its President, Mr Kurt Edwin Okraku.
The Vice President and members of the delegation interacted with the players and the technical team, offering words of encouragement ahead of the tournament.
The visit underscored the importance attached to the Black Stars’ campaign, with both government and traditional authorities demonstrating strong support for the national team.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang wished the players and the technical staff success in the competition and expressed optimism that their performance would bring pride and joy to Ghanaians.
The Black Stars are expected to open their campaign against Panama, with hopes of making a strong start to the tournament.
