The Second Lady, Mrs Samira Bawumia, on Tuesday appealed to the electorate in Yendi to vote for her husband, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the parliamentary candidate for Yendi, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, in the upcoming general elections for more development in the constituency.
She said it was only when they voted for Farouk Aliu Mahama that he would continue with the good works he was doing in the area.
Mrs Bawumia was speaking to party supporters here in Yendi as part of her two-day campaign tour in the Northern Region.
She stated that if they needed development they should continue to vote for NPP in order to give the party a chance to develop the Dagbon Kingdom.
She said Yendi had achieved 100 per cent inner city roads infrastructure network through the efforts of their MP for the area hence the need for the residents to vote for her husband and the MP of the area to continue with further developments.
“When I entered Yendi, I thought I was in Dubai or United States of America because the development that greeted me was so marvelous, thanks to Farouk Aliu Mahama and the NPP government,” she stated.
Mrs Bawumia urged the electorate to vote massively for NPP so that their communities, homes, areas, constituency and the country at large would be developed.
According to her, NPP was the party in the country that could lead them to achieve that massive infrastructure development across the country.
She however urged them to give the husband and the MP the opportunity to lead this country for more development in their respective areas.
The Second Lady also advised them to desist from insulting one another and focus on their agenda as NPP family in other to break the 8.
The Member of Parliament for Yendi (MP), Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, addressing the party faithfuls said he had been able to change the development narrative in the traditional capital of Dagbon.
He stated that Yendi town roads had been tarred and street lights mounted across the breath and length of the entire Yendi township.
