We won’t treat NPP’s claims as sacrosanct – Deputy Presidential Spokesperson responds to ‘Yɛ Gye Yɛn Sika’ Demo

The Presidency says it will not treat claims made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during its ‘Yɛ Gye Yɛn Sika’ demonstration as sacrosanct.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, Shamima Muslim, says government will not use the NPP’s allegations as the sole basis for dismissing public officials.

Speaking in an interview with The Pulse on Joy News after receiving a petition from the demonstrators at Jubilee House, Shamima Muslim said she has taken a personal stance not to make further commentary on the matter until the process initiated to establish the facts is concluded.

According to her, no one can make a determination of criminality until matters are fully investigated.

She added that the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has demonstrated commitment to accountability in his responses to the concerns raised over the evacuation of Ghanaians from South Africa.

Shamima Muslim further noted that accountability remains one of the core pillars of the NDC’s manifesto, adding that appropriate actions would be taken.
