Yara Ghana committed to quality, standards …as it wins Outstanding Agribusiness of the year
Yara Ghana has been recognised with the Outstanding Agribusiness of the year award at the recent Ghana Business Standards Awards held in Accra.
The awards ceremony, which was on the theme ‘Celebrating organisations committed to remarkable business standards geared toward sustainable growth,’ is organised annually to celebrate organisations committed to remarkable business standards in their sectors and industry leaders breaking barriers of excellence across the Ghanaian business region.
Commenting on the win, in a post-event interview, the West Africa Regional Director of Yara, Mr Danquah Addo-Yobo, said the award underscores Yara Ghana’s commitment to quality and standards over the years.
“Yara has endeared itself to the Ghanaian farmer because they know Yara products have the highest standards in terms of quality and performance. They also know that the formula written on the bag is exactly what is inside and the results on their farms attest to this, ’’ he said.
“Yara’s commitment to keeping standards is not limited to our products alone. We also ensure a high standard of health and safety for our staff, suppliers and customers and along the production process. Yara also has a strong ethics and compliance culture underpinned by our commitment to keeping high standards in all we do,” he further stated.
Yara Ghana has also been certified by the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) with a Product Stewardship Excellence Certificate.
“The IFA Product Stewardship Excellence Certificate is a confirmation that Yara Ghana has been found to confirm to the IFA Protect & Sustain programme: Product Stewardship which has a broad scope covering areas such as management systems, sourcing and contractor management, manufacturing, supply chain to the customer, marketing, sales and application services,” he added.
