Yaw Ampofo Ankrah is new NSA Director General

 Mr Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, a pop­ular sports jour­nalist, has been appoint­ed as the new Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA).

Mr Ankrah, who also serves as President of the Ghana Beach Soccer Association, will oversee the authority’s transfor­mation as Ghana aims for sporting success.

The seasoned broad­caster brings extensive expertise to his new post, given his commitment for the growth of sports, particularly the least financed sports.

Mr Ankrah is expected to collaborate closely with Mr Kofi Adams, the Sports and Recreation Minister, in developing, organising, promoting, and managing competi­tive sports.

With the recurrent challenge of keeping Ghana’s national stadi­ums to meet international standards, Mr Ankrah’s task as NSA boss won’t be easy.

But his dedication to sports development and his commitment to excellence could be a game-changer for the NSA as they look to regain the public trust.
