60 Divine Gift International School pupils get scholarship for UN 78th anniversary celebration
Sixty needy pupils of the Divine Gift International School, a community based private school at Nyanyano in the Central Region have benefited from scholarships provided by the management of the school.
The scholarship was part of the school’s corporate social responsibility meant to help brilliant but needy pupils within the community to gain access to the school, in order to better their lives.
The Nkosuohene of Lower Axim and Executive Director of the Divine Gift International School, Nana Nkwantabisa II, announced these at a colourful maiden Graduation, Speech and Prize-Giving Day Ceremony of the school held on Wednesday.
In all, 500 pupils graduated into their next respective academic levels .The pupils showed an exceptional display of choreography, cultural dances, Bible recitals, drama and skills in Cadet Display to the admiration of parents and guardians present.
The Executive Director said, in the current world order, where poverty had gained deep roots, there was the need for all organisations to consider it, as a matter of urgency, to help the underprivileged and open them up to opportunities that life offers, a mandate adopted by the school.
He noted that, over the years, the school had made great strides in the educational landscape of Ghana, introducing a state-of-the-art modern technology in teaching and learning.
On his part, the Pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Nyanyano, Reverend Emmanuel Kofi Ofosu, called for a collective responsibility to provide children with basic and physiological needs and educate them on their rights.
He commended the staff for their efforts in nurturing the children and urged them to continue the good work they have started.
