The Susu Collectors in the country have been advised to improve their business operations by introducing technology and innovation to provide better services to their clients.
The Executive Secretary, Ghana Microfinance Institution Network, (GHAMFIN), Mr Yaw Gyamfi gave the advise during the launch of the Greater Accra Co-operative Susu Collectors Society’s (GACSCS) Annual General Meeting.
It was themed: “Re-Positioning Susu Enterprises Through Innovation and Technology, Building Systems for Literacy and Clients Satisfaction,”.
According to Mr Gyamfi, there was the need for the organisation to be abreast with time and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to be relevant in the broad financial sector of the economy.
“In our quest to do all this, let us also ensure that clients’ satisfaction is key to our survival, therefore the ability to inject financial literacy into our mode of operation enables our clients to appreciate financial matters better than before,” he said.
Mr Gyamfi said one of the benefits of innovation in business, was the increase in productivity of individuals, processes, and business models to increase efficiency with minimum resources and reduce business risks.
“Thinking creatively can help Susu managers develop unique marketing campaigns to help them stand out. Also, formulate promotional and advertising strategies that will help in increasing market share and revenue, giving the company a competitive advantage,” he said.
He further underscored the need to keep track of customer and market data, “It is the technology that captures critical data and helps a business see its weak areas and ways to strategize accordingly”.
“The ability to adapt to change, evolve with customers, and carry on with the newest technology, all contribute to future-proofing your business and innovation desires time to incubate, however you would have to be compelled to invest time so as to come up with new ideas,” he said.
General Manager of GACSCS, Ms Esther Odjawo, said in an era where technological advancements shape the course of businesses, SUSU Enterprises needed to reinvent itself by infusing innovation into their core strategies.
“The society must harness the power of cutting-edge technologies to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and foster unprecedented growth,” she said.
The President of GACSCS, Mr Patrick Attahokyere said his outfit would continue to train and build members capacity to foster a positive customer experience.
“When everyone does their job duties with the customer in mind, they are constantly solving for the customer and working to satisfy their desires and satisfy them,” he said.
