The Black Stars of Ghana are expected to leave for Angola tomorrow to honour the first of final leg of qualifers for AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
Commencing Friday, the Stars will come face to face against the Palancas Negras of Angola in a penultimate tie of the qualifiers.
For the Angolans, whose qualification remains certain irrespective of the outcome, will be a moment to celebrate a return to the continental showpiece in front of their home fans.
But the story is different for the Black Stars who find themselves in a tight corner, needing the maximum points at stake to keep hopes alive.
As if that is not enough, the Stars would also hope that their biggest contenders in the qualifiers, Sudan, which is handled by former Black Stars coach, Kwesi Appiah, would also fall to the whipping boys in the group, Niger.
It leaves Ghana in a very difficult situation, knowing that a win in their last two games against Angola and Niger in Accra would not be enough to half the possibility of missing out from another opportunity to launch an on slaught on the AFCON trophy.
Following last week’s announcement of the squad for a double-header against Angola and Niger, The FA yesterday released the team’s schedule ahead of the two fate-defining games.
By it, the team will leave the capital tomorrow after two training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday which is opened to the media and a closed-door session today.
The team will conduct its final training session on Thursday in Luanda before taking on the Palancas Negras on Friday
