THE Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants (CIAMC) Ghana has urged businesses to prioritise innovation and continuous professional development to remain competitive in an increasingly changing business environment.
It said organisations could no longer rely solely on traditional approaches to doing business but needed to continually improve their products, services and management practices to respond effectively to emerging trends and market demands.
The institute stressed that innovation had become essential to business survival, warning that organisations that failed to adapt to changing market conditions risked losing their relevance and competitiveness.
The Board Chairman of CIAMC Ghana, Ehunabobrim Nana Prah Agyensaim VI, made this known at the institute’s 25th anniversary celebration and graduation ceremony in Accra on Friday.
The event was held under the theme, ‘25 Years of Excellence in Administration and Management Consultancy’.
He urged the newly qualified administrators and management consultants to apply their professional knowledge and competencies to address challenges confronting businesses and institutions.
The Board Chairman said the rapidly changing business environment required professionals who could identify opportunities, embrace new ideas and develop practical solutions to emerging challenges.
Nana Agyensaim VI also encouraged the new members to embrace Continuous Professional Development (CPD), describing it as essential to maintaining professional relevance and distinguishing themselves in an increasingly competitive labour market.
He explained that CPD provided professionals with opportunities to acquire new knowledge, update existing skills and keep abreast of developments in their respective fields.
According to him, Ghana needed administrators and management consultants with the requisite knowledge, integrity and technical competence to support economic growth and institutional development.
He gave an assurance that the institute would continue to uphold professional ethics while promoting practical education, technical competence and discipline among its members.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CIAMC Ghana, Dr Samuel Mawusi Asafo, said the Institute was targeting an expansion of its professional training programmes to districts across the country next year to widen access to professional qualifications and strengthen administrative and management capacity.
He noted that the planned expansion would build on the institute’s existing operations in 12 centres and ongoing efforts to extend its Fast-Track Professional Licensing Programme to all 16 regions.
Dr Asafo stated that the institute was committed to making professional training more accessible while equipping participants with practical skills to address workplace challenges and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He explained that the institute’s training philosophy went beyond awarding certificates to ensuring that participants acquired practical skills for effective problem-solving.
“Our key slogan sets the tone for all our professional training: not just certificates, but skills acquisition for effective problem-solving,” he underlined.
Dr Asafo further disclosed that the institute was strengthening partnerships with universities to expand training opportunities and improve professional development.
He said CIAMC was currently collaborating with five universities, including the University of Cape Coast, Sunyani Technical University and Cape Coast Technical University.
He noted that the partnerships, together with the institute’s regional training centres, would support efforts to develop a pool of competent administrators and management consultants to meet the country’s growing professional needs.
