Driver granted GH¢20,000 bail for alleged negligence
Sunyani Circuit Court has granted GH¢20,000.00 bail with two sureties to be justified, to a driver, whose alleged negligence caused an accident that resulted in the death of a tricycle rider.
The 28-year-old driver, Michael AmoakoAdusei, who has been charged with four counts of careless and inconsiderate driving, negligence and causing harm, would re-appear before the court on Monday, April 25.
The court presided over by Mr Sylvester NiiOkineAblorh, ordered Aduseito report to the investigator of the case every Friday till his re-appearance.
Police Sergeant FaustinaAsamoah told the court that Adusei was driving a Toyota Hilux Pick-up vehicle from Kenyasi in the Asutifi North District of Ahafo Region to Sunyani.
Prosecution said that upon reaching the Watchman-Asufufu stretch of the Sunyani-Kenyasi road, the driver attempted to overtake a tricycle.
Sgt Asamoah said in the process, the vehicle crashed the tricycle, and the rider of the tricycle Yaw Donsah, was injured.
The rider and passengers in the tricycle, including BismarkKrah and Andrew Zinale, who were also injured, were rushed to the Sunyani Regional Hospital.
SgtAsamoah said Donsahdied while on admission at the hospital, and a post-mortem, showed he died from severe head injuries. -GNA
