Govt to hold Town Hall Meeting in Kumasi tomorrow

The government through the Ministry of Information will tomorrow hold the 2020 Government Town Hall Meeting in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The meeting would also be used to showcase the achievements of the government through an exhibition to be mounted by the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation.

This was disclosed by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Information yesterday at a press conference organised by the ministry.

He said the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, whose office was charged with the responsibility to monitor the 388 policies of the government as captured in the party’s manifesto would be leading the discussions at the meeting.

Mr Nkrumah said the objective of public interaction was for the government to be accountable to the people as enshrined in the constitution as well as create the platform for an all inclusive and participatory democracy.

He said the achievements, which would be exhibited, would have an empirical evidence to support them, adding that there would be bullet by bullet details heavily driven by data.

Mr Nkrumah asked political parties, civil society organisations and the media to participate in the event, since the NPP would have a lot to show for its three years stewardship.
