Igbo Diaspora King in Ghana congratulates President-elect Mahama

 The Igbo Diaspora King in Ghana, Eze Dr Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, has congratu­lated President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, saying his election is an evidence of his great contribution to the growth and development of Ghana.

The Igbo King, who spoke with journalists in Accra yesterday, also commended the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, for conceding defeat to President elect Mahama, an act that has brought down anxiety and tension.

“This act of unity and grace is a wonderful example of leadership that sets a standard for Africa,” he remarked, adding that Mr Mahama leadership was a service to the peo­ple and a work of God.

“President John Mahama is the man that the entire nation of Ghana and the world have found worthy to make a come – back in order to do the work of God and serve the Ghanaian people,” he said.

He wished the President-elect all the best as he assumes office on January 7, 2025, praying that Maha­ma’s leadership would be marked by wisdom and success.

“I pray that the Lord will give him good men and women to work with, so Ghana can continue to thrive and stand out as one of the best countries in the world,” he added.

Eze Dr Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu stated that it was a pride being part of the nation known for its peace­ful democratic process and strong governance.

He commended his Nigerian compatriots in Ghana for being law abiding to the extent of not making an attempt to participate in the elections as they were ineligible to vote.

He also expressed gratitude to the Nigerian community for re­specting Ghana’s elections laws and cooperating to maintain peace.

He reaffirmed the Igbo com­munity commitment to supporting Ghana’s economy and prosperity. “We will continue to work hard, support the economy of Ghana, and contribute positively to the development of this great nation”.

He, therefore, prayed for peace, prosperity, and continued friend­ship between Ghana and its foreign communities under the leadership of President-elect, John Mahama
