NADeF hands over hostel facility to

THE Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation (NADeF) has constructed and handed over a three-storey hostel facility for the Ntotroso Nurses &Midwifery Training College at Ntotroso in the Ahafo Region.
The 24 unit hostel project initiated by the Ntotroso community and started in 2015 was solely funded by NADeF, to improve student accommodation.

The facility was constructed at the cost of GH¢ 3,997,073.55, and completed in November 2025.
It consists of 24 dormitories, six study rooms and modern washrooms facilities with a total capacity to accommodate 240 students.
Speaking at the inauguration to hand over the facility to the school, Mrs Elizabeth Opoku-Darko, Executive Secretary of NADef, said the facility would ease the accommodation burden on the students and staff to enable them to focus more on their academic pursuit.
She noted that the hostel was not the only project undertaken by the Foundation for the school.
She mentioned a multi-purpose block comprising an administration, a skill acquisition, and a computer laboratory-fully furnished dining hall, a lecture block, a principal’s bungalow and furnishing, a modern kitchen facility, 4×4 Toyota Hilux pick up vehicle among others.
In total, NADeF she said had invested approximately GH¢ 9,954,991 into the Ntotroso Nurses &Midwifery Training School since its establishment.
Mrs Opoku-Darko commended Barima Twereku Ampem, the Ntotrosomanhene through its sustainable development committees for their development initiatives that has ensure development in the area.
Barima Twereku Ampem who chaired the programme assured to ensure development in his traditional area.
According to him the traditional Council would continue to partner forward looking institutions to support and promote the wellbeing of the people.
The Principal of the Ntotroso Nurses & Midwifery Training College, Augustina Naa Shorme Noi Ayivor, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the provision of the hostel and classroom facilities other development initiatives undertaken in the school.
She commended the Ntotroso Traditional Council for their instrumental role played to ensure that the vision of the school was actualised.
