NAFCO Warns Public Against Fraudsters Peddling Fake School Food Contracts

The National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited (NAFCO) has cautioned the public against individuals allegedly posing as agents of the company and soliciting money from unsuspecting persons under the pretext of securing food supply contracts to second-cycle schools.

According to NAFCO, it has received reports of unscrupulous individuals claiming to have influence over the allocation and award of contracts for the supply of food to schools.

In a disclaimer issued by the Corporate Affairs Department of the company stressed that no third party has been engaged to award or allocate food supply contracts to schools on its behalf.

NAFCO said interested entities seeking to supply food to second-cycle schools are required to register at its offices nationwide and undergo a rigorous, merit-based selection process.

It emphasised that the process is conducted without the influence or intervention of third parties.

The company therefore urged members of the public to disregard anyone who approaches them for money in exchange for assistance in securing NAFCO food supply contracts.

It further advised anyone who encounters individuals claiming to have influence over the award or selection of such contracts in exchange for money to report them to the nearest police station.

“NAFCO operates an open-door policy,” the company stated, encouraging interested entities to engage directly with its offices for information on its operations and contract processes.
