Parliament to launch 2nd Democracy Cup July 24
Parliament, under the leadership of Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, is set to launch the second edition of the annual Democracy Cup on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
The event will take place at the Justice D. F. Annan Auditorium within Parliament House, starting at 3pm.
A statement signed by Mr David Sebastian Damoah, Director, Media Relations Department, Parliament, said, “The second edition promises a lot of excitement and surprises, and urged football fans to support and participate in it.”
The launch would be attended by Members of Parliament, officials from the sporting fraternity, supporters of participating clubs, and members of the public.
The tournament also serves as a symbol of Ghana’s democratic progress and the role of sports in uniting the nation.
At the launch, details including the teams to contest for the cup would be announced, according to the statement.
