RideAfrique Accra Criterium 2025 slated for April 19
Organisers of the annual RideAfrique Accra Criterium have fixed April 19, 2025 for the next edition of the cycling event at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to them, the much-anticipated event has drawn a lot of talking points among the cycling community in the country and beyond, with many demanding the actual date ahead of time in order to enable them prepare adequately for the task.
In a chat with the Times Sports, the Chief Executive Officer of RideAfrique, Mr Richard Agu, said preparations for the 2025 edition of the event have begun in full swing.
“From the criterium, circuit layout to the timing and scoring systems, every detail has been carefully considered to guarantee a thrilling experience for all involved at the next edition.”
According to him, the 30-lap (105 km) race, which is aimed at unearthing talent within the cycling community is open to all, both male and female, as well as other nationals.
“The team wants to create an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike and make it the premier cycling event in Ghana to attract top talent from across the region,” he added.
He revealed that next year’s competition will have a cash prize of GH¢5,000 at stake.
The winner will also secure a prestigious brand ambassador deal with RideAfrique, offering a unique opportunity to represent the brand and promote cycling in Ghana, Agu noted.
