Accra East defeat Adabraka/Asylum Down in RENFAG Oldies League

Seventh-minute strike from Victor Okuley proved decisive as Accra East Oldies earned a narrow win over Adabraka/Asylum Down Oldies in their Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RENFAG) Oldies League match played at the McDan La Town Park on Saturday.
Okuley, a former D’ International FC striker, tapped home after striker Andrews Lamptey’s shot on target was parried onto his path by former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Ben Mensah.
The Zone B clash featured several notable retired players including Moro Martey of Hearts, Yaw Berko of Liberty Professionals, and Anokye Opoku of Zaytuna FC, who all played for the Adabraka/Asylum Down side.
In other Zone B matches, Dansoman Tonny Oldies defeated La Emmause 4-3 at the Dansoman Tonny Park; Scarp Rangers beat La Old Stars 1-0 at the ATTC Park, while Osu Tenashie and La Salem earned walkovers against Rangoon Oldies and Osu Salem Oldies, respectively.
Zone A leaders, Tema Ex-Footballers, played to a goalless draw with Teshie Oldies at the Teshie McDan Park.
Veterans KFC jumped to second position on the log with a 3-0 victory over Nii Laryea Oldies at the Twedaase School Park; Nungua Veterans defeated Community 2 Ex-Footballers at the Nungua Town Park while East Legon Oldies won 3-1 against Nungua Oldies at the Bawaleshie School Park.
In Zone C, leaders Nima Oldies opened a three-point gap with a 4-1 win over Madina Oldies at the Nima Kaokudi Park while Kotobabi Oldies moved to second place with 21 points after a 2-0 victory over Ayawaso KFC at the Alajo Astroturf Park.
Abokobi Oldies drew 2-2 with Adenta Oldies at the Abokobi Community Park, while Achimota Oldies had a walkover against Okaikwei Oldies.
At the Auntie Aku Park in Sowutuom, Zone D leaders, Ashiedu Keteke Oldies, were held to a 1-1 draw by Nii Sabaah Oldies; SCC Oldies outclassed Awoshie Oldies 3-0 at the Arthur Moses Park to move within a point of the leaders who lead with 21 points; Ablekuma South Oldies lost 2-0 to Accra Old Stars at the Indafa Park in Mamprobi, while Nima First Oldies had a walkover against Ablekuma Central Oldies.
