Bayern open talks to extend Kane contract

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that the German champions are in talks with England captain Harry Kane over a possible contract extension.
The 32-year-old striker joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 on a four-year deal worth an initial €100 million (£86.4m).
Since arriving in Munich, Kane has been prolific, scoring 119 goals and providing 30 assists in 126 appearances. He clinched the first major trophy of his career after helping Bayern win the 2024–25 Bundesliga title.
“We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” Eberl said at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt. “Everyone knows at some point a decision has to be made.”
In October, Kane said he “could definitely” see himself staying at Bayern, adding that his desire to return to the Premier League had “gone down a little bit”.
This season, Kane has scored 34 goals in 30 games for Vincent Kompany’s side, including 21 goals in 19 Bundesliga matches, as he targets former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign.
Kane has also helped Bayern secure second place in the Champions League group-stage table with one game remaining.
Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said Kane was settled in Germany and comfortable at the club.
“Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore we’ve got absolutely no reason to rush.” —BBC
