Cherryfield Montessori marks 68th Independence Day with patriotic march

The Chief Executive Officer of Cherryfield Montessori, Ms Magdalene Dzifa Adzanu has called on the country’s leaders to walk the talk by putting in place concrete measures towards national development.

She said 68years after independence, the country must move away from the usual meetings and workshop since that has failed to deal with the numerous challenges confronting the country.

“Enough of the talks, meetings and the regrets, let’s take action now. Let’s walk the talk and build a formidable nation that we will be proud of,” she emphasised.

Ms Adzanu said this during Cherryfield Montessori School’s parade to commemorate Ghana’s 68th Independence Day last Thursday.

“As we celebrate our 68th Independence Day, let us brighten the corner where we are and keep our environment devoid of filth and dirt to prevent the spread of communicable diseases such as Cholera, typhoid and others. For a healthy mind they say, lives in a healthy body,” she said.

The march was in response to the series of activities outlined by the government to commemorate the day which included a ceremonial parade held at the forecourt of the Jubilee House, the seat of Presidency.

Pupils of the school took part in a powerful display of unity and purpose, marching across the campus with colourful banners and energetic voices.

The event aimed to raise awareness for the 68th Independence Day anniversary. Teachers and non-teaching staff also participated in the march.

It is a national day to honour Ghana’s independence from the British on March 6, 1957. The march showcased the school community’s unity and hope for a brighter future as they came together to celebrate the nation’s journey to few motion photos.

The event reflected the students’ deep understanding of Ghana’s history and the significance of the nation’s independence.
