HD+ kids armwrestling Season II ends in Accra

Pullers from selected Senior and Junior High Schools from five regions of the country thrilled guests and others students at the 2023 finals of the HD+ Kids armwrestling competition at the Bediako Hall of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) Headquarters in Accra.

The schools were drawn from the Bono, Greater Accra, Eastern, Ashanti and Western regions.

Rachael Lankai from Sacred Heart School won the girls light­weight division, followed by Mabel Yeboah from Ebenezer SHS and Adelaide Amoah from Bedo Addo School.

In the boys’ category, Charles Cobbina from the Holy Trinity School emerged as the winner ahead of Sylvester Otoo from Methodist SHS and Leornard Tetteh.

African Champion and student from Osu Salem, Blessed Abeka Nunoo, was crowned the winner in the girls middleweight category followed by Naa Korkor Ackah from 32 Community School and Evelyn Stevens from Nanka Bruce School.

Joseph Tabel won the boy’s middleweight category with Steven Benin from Holy Trinity School and Desmond Mensah from Bishop JHS in second and third positions.

The female heavyweight division had Mariam Yussif from St Louis as the winner, followed by Naa Ayorkor Quaye from Aburi Girls, while Mary-Ann Abagale also from St Louis came third.

Oliver Adams from KNUST SHS was the winner in the boy’s heavyweight division.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SES Ghana, Adelaide Abbiw-William, indicated that her company was thrilled with the per­formance exhibited by the teens and pledged that HD+ was happy to have helped unearth future champions.

The Marketing Manager of HD+, Kisiwa Ashiagbe, com­mended the pullers for the perfor­mance, and expressed the compa­ny’s pride at adopting the sport of armwrestling.

Athletes from the HD+ Arm­wrestling Season I and II would join the national armwrestling academy.
