The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seven police officers in recognition of their exceptional performance and bravery in the successful investigation and arrest of suspects linked to the Adabraka gold robbery case.
The beneficiaries comprise one Senior Police Officer (SPO) and six other ranks, who have all been elevated to their next ranks for demonstrating professionalism, dedication and courage in the discharge of their duties.
The officers played a critical role in the operational and investigative efforts that led to the arrest of suspects connected to the robbery incident, which occurred at Adabraka in Accra.
Their actions, according to the Police Administration, demonstrated a high level of commitment to duty and contributed significantly to the fight against crime.
Addressing the promoted officers yesterday in Accra on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Director-General of the Legal and Prosecution Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, COP Joseph Oklu Gyamera, commended them for their hard work and dedication.
He said their performance had impressed the IGP and the Police Administration, describing the officers as personnel who had demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring that the mandate of the Ghana Police Service was effectively carried out.
“Your work, your hard work, your dedicated work, the service to the nation that you have exhibited, actually pleases him,” COP Gyamera said.
He noted that the officers had demonstrated a high sense of professionalism, which had earned them recognition and promotion.
According to him, the promotion was an indication that the Police Administration would continue to reward personnel who distinguished themselves through hard work and dedication.
“We will encourage you to continue working very hard, and hard work, as far as this administration is concerned, will never go unrewarded. That is why you have been rewarded today,” he emphasised.
COP Gyamera urged the officers to regard their promotion as an inspiration to work harder and strive for greater achievements in the service.
He congratulated the seven officers on their promotion and urged them to maintain the same level of professionalism, vigilance and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
He said the recognition was also intended to motivate other personnel to remain committed to protecting lives and property, and supporting efforts to combat crime.
