Purple steps, healthy hearts …Mfantsiman women march globally

As part of its commitment to promote preventive health and foster a culture of wellness and unity among members, the National Executive Committee of the Mfantsiman Old Girls’ Association (MOGA) will undertake the MOGA National Health Walk 2025.
Scheduled for August 2, under the theme, ‘’Purple Steps, Healthy Hearts, One MOGA,’’ this year’s edition will be held simultaneously across all regional chapters of the country and in the diaspora, bringing together thousands of Mfantsiman alumnae for a day of physical activity, networking, and fun.
“This year’s simultaneous walk across the globe reflects our strength as a global sisterhood. The event is expected to attract over 500 old girls of Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School, along with supporters, families, and affiliate institutions.
While the Accra edition will start at 6:30 a.m. at the University of Ghana, Stadium Car Park in Accra, the regional chapter health walks will be held in Koforidua, Kumasi, Swedru/Winneba, Cape Coast and Takoradi.
According to a press statement issued by the Vice President of the MOGA, Mrs Shirley Tony Kum, old student associations from Adisadel College, Mfantsipim School, Wesley Girls, Holy Child, St Augustine’s College, Ghana National College and Aggrey Memorial would join the health walk.
Activities planned for the main event in Accra include an aerobic workout session led by certified instructors, health screening, including blood pressure, glucose level, BMI checks and wellness and interactive sessions with healthcare professionals.
It mentioned Voltic Ghana Limited, Blue Skies Company Limited, FanMilk Ghana, Mr Yoghurt, Aramex, Shades of Sam, Qualicare, and St. Michael’s Hospital as sponsors of the event, saying health enthusiasts and corporate partners would participate in and support the important initiative.
