Yango Ghana rewards drivers
Ghana’s leading ride-hailing service, Yango Ghana, a leading ride-hailing service, has organised a five-week long championship for its drivers to reward them for their hard work in the 2021 financial year.
Dubbed ‘Ghana Yango Partners Drivers Championship,’ the event formed part of the series of programmes the company had outlined to reward drivers.
The contest saw the top three drivers selected weekly, receiving different valuable prizes for their effort.
Additionally, opportunity was given to other drivers entering the competition to also receive prizes on a random give-away basis.
Among the prizes were Samsung Galaxy smartphones, grocery bundles and gift cards.
Sharing their experiences in the five-week long contest, the winners expressed their delight for winning various prizes.
One of the winners of the Yango Partners Drivers’ Contest, Reuben Tetteh, stated that he was delighted by switching to Yango, because of the promotions and bonuses being given to drivers.
Mr Tetteh, who completed 198 rides in a week said “I was a driver using different applications, but Yango was recommended by a friend. For six months now, I have not regretted using Yango. That is because, they are running a bonus for drivers.”
According to him, the weekly income from using Yango App as a driver was enough to take care of himself and his family.
Commenting on how he got to know about the contest, Mr. Tetteh explained that “I was actually competing with two other friends who are also Yango drivers. We had our own internal competition to see who would complete the most trips in the week. One of those friends was the one who told me about the Drivers’ Contest.”
Another winner, Elvis Owusu Adjei, who completed 186 rides within a week said the Yango promotion required drivers’ dedication and “I was determined to win whichever prize there was.”
Mr Adjei explained that, the Drivers’ Contest became a competition between him and his friends and it was exciting for them to ride and win a prize.
He noted that, “the Yango Partners Drivers’ Contest became a competition among us, since we were all eager to win the contest. It also served as a motivation to our circle.”
Another winner, Godfred Mensah said “My life has been good, since I joined Yango and I have passion for what I do.”
The Drivers’ Contest was an initiative of Yango Ghana to reward outstanding drivers on the app with prizes for the season.
The contest was open to all licensed drivers in the country.
Yango is a ride-hailing service. It is provided by Yandex. Taxi, an international group of companies that operates mobility and delivery businesses in 22 countries across EMEA under Yandex Go, Yango, and Uber Russia brands, since 2011.
