Youth Urged to Strive for Excellence
The Kasoa Area Youth Secretary of the Church of Pentecost (CoP), Elder Ebenezer Ankomah has urged the youth to strive for excellence in whatever they do.
That, he said was the only way they could fit perfectly in today’s society and be chosen over the lot.
He was speaking on the theme “Repositioned in Christ for Excellence and Maximum Impact” on Sunday in Accra when the Youth Ministry of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) West Hills marked its day.
“It will be pathetic for any young person to go by their parent’s standards. God has a character for excellence and as a young person you cannot decide not to live by this. God wants us to spread the aroma of excellence,” he stated.
The Kasoa Area Youth Secretary explained excellence as the quality of being extremely good or outstanding.
Stating that young people could do better in their various professions or studies, Elder Ankomah indicated that the youth could do so by believing in Jesus Christ and solely relying on him.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father, (John 14:12 King James Version KJV),” he quoted.
Again, Elder Ankomah said striving for excellence by the youth was imperative because they were the workmanship of God created unto good works.
“Excel at what you do, wherever and whenever. Be the Greatest of All Times (GOAT) of what you do,” he added.
Quoting that “a man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men (Proverbs 18:16 KJV), Elder Ankomah also said Christian youths were not to settle for mediocrity and added that they were not to excel only in their chosen fields but also in their characters.
More so, he urged the youth to learn to sacrifice and be patient in their strive for excellence, adding that nothing good came easily.
