GAF refutes claims of tension in Burma Camp

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), has refuted claims that tension was brewing at the Burma Camp, Accra, as a result of fraudulent activities of Warrant Officer II (WOII), Duffuor Gladys.

The GAF said the activities of WOII Duffour and Emmanuel Investment turned out to be fraudulent, following investigations the military conducted when its attention was drawn to the activities, in November, last year.

According to a statement signed by the GAF Director of Public Relations, Colonel E Aggrey-Quashie, issued in Accra yesterday, said the GAF would  not condone any unprofessional conduct from any of its members.

It said WOII Duffuor was arraigned before court and was granted bail on January 17, 2019.

The statement disclosed that investigations were ongoing together with other state investigative bodies with the military police closely monitoring investigations.

“It is, therefore, false for anyone to allege or insinuate that the military hierarchy is condoning wrongdoings at the barracks,” it stressed.

The statement said the military high command would not under any circumstance condone any unprofessional conduct by any member of the GAF, and assured that the situation at the barracks was calm.
