Buipe Traditional Council pledges support for BOSTenergies projects

His Royal Majesty, Buipewura Jinapor II, Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area, has described the Managing Director of BOSTenergies, Mr Afetsi Awoonor, as a “warrior of development, not war” in recognition of his efforts to transform Buipe through strategic investments and community-focused initiatives.
The Buipewura made the remark on Monday, during a courtesy call on the Managing Director and the management team of BOSTenergies at the company’s head office in Accra.
Addressing Mr Awoonor, His Royal Majesty said “In our tradition, we celebrate warriors. But the warriors of today do not carry spears. They carry development. You, Mr Awoonor, are a warrior of development, not war. The people of Buipe see what you are doing, and we are grateful.”
The Buipewura commended BOSTenergies for its continued presence in Buipe, noting that the Buipe Depot had become more than a petroleum facility, a source of livelihood for many families in the area.
He praised the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives, including job creation for the youth, scholarships for students, and the construction of community centres.
Responding, Mr Afetsi Awoonor expressed gratitude for the Chief’s kind words and reaffirmed BOSTenergies’ long-term commitment to Buipe.
He stressed that Buipe remained strategic to Ghana’s fuel security and outlined two major upcoming projects.
These include the establishment of a Savelugu Training Centre, which will provide technical training for young people from Buipe, other parts of Ghana, and neighbouring countries in logistics, petroleum operations and related fields.
He also announced plans for the construction of a modern depot truck park in Buipe, which is expected to commence this year.
The facility, he said, would improve safety, reduce congestion, and create additional economic opportunities in the area.
Mr Awoonor assured the Buipewura that more development projects were in the pipeline, adding that BOSTenergies would continue to work closely with the Buipe Traditional Council to align its operations with the needs of the community.
His Royal Majesty, Buipewura Jinapor II, in turn, pledged the unwavering support of the Traditional Council to BOSTenergies, noting that “where there is peace and development, there will always be partnership.”
The visit ended with an exchange of gifts and group photographs.
