Bunkpurugu MP interacts with constituents in C/R
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bunkpurugu Constituency, Dr Abed Lamangin Bandim, has embarked on a tour of two universities in the Central Region to interact with students from his constituency.
He visited the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) on Saturday as part of his Campus Synergy Tours, aimed at fostering unity and addressing their concerns within the constituency.
At UCC, the MP received a warm welcome and a citation from the students, appreciating his efforts and dedication.
He expressed gratitude to the students and emphasised the importance of their contributions to the holistic development of the Bunkpurugu constituency.
“Our discussion as usual was all about the development of our constituency and issues I should lobby for,” he said.
Dr Bandim assured the students that their concerns had been heard, and efforts would be made to secure more scholarships and funding opportunities to support their education.
He urged the students to concentrate on their studies, noting the significance of academic success for their future and the constituency’s progress.
“We have heard your concerns and we shall surely work on more scholarships and other funding opportunities for everybody,” he added.
During informal discussions after the main meeting, students raised concerns about funding opportunities to pay their fees and the need to build networks for future jobs and opportunities.
The MP reassured them of his commitment to supporting their educational endeavours.
“I promised with the help of God to support our constituents with more scholarships just as I have done in the past,” he affirmed.
Dr Bandim also encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies, particularly those writing their Interim Assessments.
“This week many of you are writing Interim Assessments. We back home are praying for you. For those in your final semester we wish you success,” he said.
According to Dr Bandim, the synergy tours are part of his ongoing efforts to maintain close contact with his constituents, understand their needs, and provide the necessary support for their academic and professional development.
He mentioned that the hardworking students are the future of the constituency, and their success is integral to the constituency’s overall development.
