Don’t tarnish image of party executives – NPP youth advised
The Kwadaso Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has admonished the youth to desist from tarnishing the image of the leadership of the party in the constituency and remain focused for the party to retain power in the December polls.
It cautioned that tarnishing the image of the leadership would not be in the interest of the party in an election year to retain power but rally behind them so as to retain power to continue transforming the economy.
This was contained in a statement signed and issued in Kumasi by Richard Karikari, a member of the party which urged the national leadership of the party to call the constituency’s organiser, Frank Amoako to order for allegedly tarnishing the image of the Second National Vice Chairman of the party, Frederick Anto.
It allegedly accused Mr Amoako of secretly recording a conversation between himself and Mr Antoh which went viral on social media which intentions of the act were not immediately known however, it is believed was meant to tarnish the image of the national executive.
“Recordings of such nature are not new in politics, usually there is a diabolic or mischievous intent to undermine or gain some political advantage over the other party but it is ironic for a constituency organiser who doubles as the personal assistant of the Minister for Food and Agriculture to record a conversation with a national executive of the party of the same political party and splash it on social media.
“The development does not augur well for the growth and development of the party to remain focused on its agenda and plan to retain power in the December polls, we appeal to the national leadership to intervene to avoid rocking the electoral boat to take appropriate action.
“ NPP members, supporters, well wishers and faithful in Kwadaso are furious and disappointed in the constituency executives to allow the situation to divide the party and we call for the suspension and possibly dismissal of our organiser for bringing the name of the constituency into disrepute since we trust in party structures and those who perpetuate such unacceptable acts must be disciplined,” the statement said.
