Farmer stabs relative to death
A 36-year-old farmer, Nana Kwame, has stabbed a relative, Kwame Frimpong, to death, at Oda Nkwanta, near Akim Oda, in the Eastern region.
The suspect, Kwame, stabbed Frimpong with a kitchen knife twice in his ribs, and bolted, following a misunderstanding that ensured between them.
Frimpong, 34, was pronounced dead shortly after he was rushed to the Oda Government Hospital, and the body has been deposited at the mortuary at the same hospital, awaiting autopsy.
The Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ebenezer Tetteh, who confirmed the story to the Ghanaian Times, said Kwaku Asare, uncle to Frimpong, reported the incident to the police.
DSP Tetteh said that Kwame recommended Frimpong to another farmer (kwame’s friend), who needed a labourer, to work on the farm.
The Police PRO said the friend complained that Frimpong did a lazy work, and Kwame confronted Frimpong over the issue.
DSP Tetteh said this resulted in a fight between the two, but they were separated by some neighbours.
DSP Tetteh said later when suspect met Frimpong by the roadside, he slapped and stabbed victim with a kitchen knife in the ribs, and escaped by a motorcycle.
