GIPA secures investor interest in real estate, tourism

The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has secured investor leads and expressions of interest in real estate, tourism and other strategic sectors at Invest Fest 2026 in Atlanta, United States.

The engagements formed part of efforts to attract diaspora and international capital into Ghana and opened discussions on potential business partnerships and commercial opportunities.

GIPA is expected to follow up on the leads and connect prospective investors with relevant institutions and private sector partners in Ghana.

The Head of Protocol at GIPA, Mrs Manuela Adu, disclosed this in a statement after leading the Authority’s delegation to the investment festival on behalf of its Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Madjie.

She said the festival provided Ghana with an opportunity to engage directly with prospective investors and showcase investment opportunities under the country’s development agenda.

Mrs Adu said GIPA presented opportunities in agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, energy, technology and digital services, tourism and hospitality, real estate, mining, infrastructure and logistics.

She said the Government’s 24-Hour Economy policy was also opening up opportunities for increased production and private sector participation, making it an important part of Ghana’s investment proposition.

Mrs Adu also highlighted the Volta Economic Corridor, which she said offered significant investment opportunities in agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, logistics, energy and tourism.

She said real estate and tourism attracted particular interest from prospective investors, with discussions focusing on potential commercial partnerships.

Mrs Adu also introduced investors to provisions under the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act, 2026 (Act 1173), including the citizenship-by-investment framework.

The framework, which is to be implemented by GIPA in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, is expected to broaden Ghana’s investment appeal, particularly among high-net-worth investors.

She said the Authority would follow up on the investor leads and expressions of interest generated at the festival by providing additional information, facilitating business connections and supporting further discussions with relevant institutions and private sector partners in Ghana.

The delegation comprised Principal Investment Promotion Officers, Mr Christopher Sedor and Mrs Bridget Odei, and an Assistant Public Relations Officer, Mr Raphael Apetorgbor.

GIPA participated in the festival in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority, while private sector partners Adansie Travel and Tours and Sunseekers Travel and Tours also formed part of the Ghanaian delegation.

The participation formed part of GIPA’s broader strategy to position Ghana as a competitive investment destination and attract capital into sectors capable of driving production, creating jobs and supporting economic growth.
