Hasaacas Ladies fall to Edo Queens in WCL Qualifiers
Hasaacas Ladies Football Club’s progression to the second phase of the qualifiers to the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League (WCL) is in danger after picking up just a point from two games.
Hasaacas Ladies lost 3-0 to Nigeria’s Edo Queens in their second game in the WAFU Zone B qualifiers at the Stade de la Paix Bouake in Cote d’Ivoire on Wednesday.
Prior to that game, Hasaacas Ladies had surprisingly drew goalless with Omnisport from Burkina Faso.
Edo Queens hammered AS Garde from Niger 5-0 in their opening game and have all but secured top spot in Group B after beating Hasaacas to pick up six points from two games.
Peace Emem Essien scored twice in the game in the 57th and 67th minutes respectively before Olajumoke Abideen killed off the tie in the 87th minute.
In the group’s other game, Omnisport thrashed AS Garde 6-1 to move to second place in the group with four points.
Omnisport’sAdama Congo was named as the Best Player of the Match; only the top two ranked teams progress to the next round.
