Hawah Brito, Torgah, Tang Bin shine at Giti Tyres President Putter Golf Tournament

The 2025 Giti Tyres President Putter Golf Championship ended at the Celebrity Golf Club at Sakumono last weekend with Hawa Britto, Tang Bin and Vincent Torgah winning the top prizes in the respective categories of the competition.
The tournament, which is played annually to honour the President of the Celebrity Golf Club, Tang Hong for his contribution and leadership role in the development of the sport, had over 240 golfers in attendance.
From a pool of 64 pros, including four ladies who played for three days, Vincent Torgah dominated on the score board from the second day.
Despite the last day challenge from the likes of Kojo Barnni and Francis Torgah, Vincent Torgah clinched the professional category trophy plus a prize money of Gh¢20,000.
In the pros senior category, Robert Degbe brushed off competition from Agbeko D and S.K Klan for the top prize while Vivienne Kouame grabbed the lady’s professional first position ahead of Jessica Beals Tei, Mercy Werner and Felicity Gyeabour.
In the ladies group A contest, Livia Hawah Brito bagged 38points to emerge winner, beating Cathy Fabbi and Pamela Atila to the second and third places.
Aileen Conteh stepped out for the lady’s Group B honours with Jacinta Bey and Naomi Akweley Addo finishing second and third positions.
The Chinese golfers dominated the men’s group A category of the competition after Tang Bin, Fuhai Yang and Yang Lin Jack grabbed the first three positions which came with attractive prizes.
Don Obilor, John Blay, Keegan Wang and Vincent Frempong Boakye all smiled home after placing well in the men’s group B category.
Teenage sensation, Kingsley Afful, won the scratch category top prize after bagging 225 points, beating Desmond Abban and Samuel Agyiri to the second and third positions.
In the women’s senior competition, Helen Appah, Beatrice and Vetch Bempong were victorious.
Other auxiliary prizes such as the longest drive and closest to the pin were presented at the function.
In attendance was the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, commended the sponsors, Giti Tyres, for the investment into the game.
President of Celebrity Golf Club, Tang Hang, thanked the various golfers for their participation and indicated his readiness to do more for the club.
