Keep Ghana Beautiful takes clean-up campaign to kwabenya market
Keep Ghana Beautiful, a voluntary organization, last weekend organised a cleanup exercise at the Kwabenya market in Accra in support of the Clean Ghana agenda by the government.
The Co- Founder of the organisation, Mr Ebenezer Boahene Annoh, noted that the sanitation exercise was organised in order to curb the sanitation menace within the country.
“We conduct these community clean ups, and litter removals to create cleaner public spaces and streets,” he said.
In a bid to have an improved health and longer lifespan, Mr Annoh entreated the public to take it upon themselves to ensure that their surroundings were tidied up regularly.
The Chairman for the Kwabenya-Atomic market, Mr Aikins Mensah, said the cleanup also prevented harmful animals, such as snakes, from attacking the traders.
Traders lauded the initiative and requested that the exercise should be done every month.
The activity was on the theme ‘Great Ghana Clean Up’.
The organisation is affiliated to Keep America Beautiful (KAB), pioneers of creating clean, green, and beautiful communities in the United States for over 65 years.
