The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has launched a five-year Presidential Initiative on Maternal Health Emergency Response (PRIMA) to reduce preventable maternal and newborn deaths in Ghana.
She said the initiative would bring together government institutions, health professionals, traditional and religious leaders, civil society, the private sector and communities to address persistent gaps affecting maternal survival.
Launching PRIMA in Accra yesterday, Professor Opoku-Agyemang said Ghana had made significant progress in maternal healthcare, with about nine out of 10 women receiving at least four antenatal care visits. Read More
