Speaker Bagbin swears in new MPs for Akwatia and Tamale Central

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on Tuesday swore into office the newly elected Members of Parliament for Akwatia and Tamale Central.
The are, Bernard Bediako Baidoo and Professor Alidu Seidu respectively.
The brief ceremony took place in the Chamber when Parliament reconvened for the third meeting of the first session of 9th Parliament.
The two lawmakers were elected in recent by-elections following vacancies declared in their constituencies.
Their swearing-in officially makes them part of the current Parliament, enabling them to participate fully in legislative business.
Mr. Bagbin welcomed the new members and urged them to contribute actively to parliamentary debates and uphold the dignity of the House.
The sitting also marked the beginning of a busy period expected to cover the presentation of the 2026 budget, key bills, and other national matters before the end of the year.
