Stage set for Interplast Invitational Masters Tennis Championship
Action returns to the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC) from Monday with the opening of the Interplast Invitational Tennis Masters Championship featuring the finest crop of players in the country.
The event, organised by the Grandmaster Tennis Events, will be opened to the top 16 male professionals and the top eight female professionals in the country.
It is the second major event in the month of December, coming just a week after the Accra Seniors Open Championship. It is expected to end on December 16.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grandmaster Events, Mr Peter Annan, told the Times Sports yesterday that preparation was far advanced and barring any unforeseen circumstance, the competition would kick start on Monday.
Forming the best in the male top 16 team include Raphael Nii Ankrah, Lameck Bagerbaseh, Desmond Ayaba, Caleb Aryettey, Abubakar Yakubu Lea, Emmanuel Antwi, Benjamin Palm and Felix Hammond.
The rest are Johnson Acquah, Japheth Bagerbaseh, Ronald Totimeh, Richmond Armaah, David Oringa, Samuel Nyamekye, Reginald Okantey, Nicholas Kumadey, Bernard Ashitey Armaah, Pascal Ziyab, Constantini, Charles Asomani and Kwesi Frimpong who will be on standby.
According to Mr Annan, the list for the Ladies division would be announced soon.
