Vote for NDC in Dec election for dev …NDC PC urges Berekum East Constituency

Mr Simon Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, the 2024 National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Berekum East Constituency in the Bono Region, has urged the electorate to cast their votes in favour of the NDC party during the forthcoming December elections, emphasising the need to accelerate the development of the Berekum area.

He stated that the NDC’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, genuinely cares for the populace and has implemented effective programmes and policies aimed at resolving the developmental issues facing the constituency.

Mr Kyeremeh noted that approximately 80 per cent of the development initiatives in the areas of health, education, and road infrastructure were realised under successive NDC administrations, despite the electorate’s continuous support for the ruling government over the past 24 years.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghanaian Times, yesterday in Berekum, Mr Kyeremeh noted that the deplorable road networks in the area was a major source of concern to the people and that the NDC would fix them upon coming into office.

He stated that the projects for the outer city and ring road in Berekum, which had been neglected, would be promptly addressed once the NDC assumed power.

Mr Kyeremeh said Berekum’s strategic location in the heart of the Bono Region, in proximity to neighbouring La Côte d’Ivoire, resulted in significant traffic from cargo vehicles, thereby necessitating the construction of ring and outer lane roads to alleviate congestion on the main Berekum thoroughfare.

He observed that, despite his defeat in the 2020 election to the current Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Nelson Kwaku Kyeremeh, he remained dedicated to promoting development initiatives within the area.

He reported the successful establishment of six new boreholes and the repair of 36 existing ones in the region.

Mr Kyeremeh mentioned that he had played a role in extending electricity to the communities of Nyametease and Sofokyere.

The NDC parliamentary candidate further noted that in 2014, under the urban water system project, the party expanded water access throughout the Berekum Municipality to address ongoing water issues.

He said in the months leading up to the 2020 general elections, the NPP, anticipating electoral loss, hastily constructed a few kilometers of asphalt overlay, only to abandon the community after the election.

The New Patriotic Party and its Member of Parliament, Mr Kyeremeh noted had performed abysmally and had taken the loyalty of the people for granted.

He said the poor governance the NPP had delivered for close to eight years should be enough for the people to vote for change in the December general elections
