Woman accused of boyfriend’s death dicharged
Mam Yandey Joof, who is standing trial over the death of her boyfriend, Benett Agyekum Adomah, also known as Kikibee, has been discharged by the Madina District Court.
Prosecution said that “the advice from the Attorney General is ready and we have been asked to discharge the accused.”
Joof, who is on GH¢200,000 bail, wept uncontrollably as her relatives whisked her away into a waiting vehicle, and in a state of disbelief, she cried “aww” and wiped tears from the face.
The court presided over by Susana Nyarkotey, said “in accordance with advice from the Attorney General, dated February 8, 2024, the accused is hereby discharged. They found no fault with you.”
Joof was facing a charge of murder, following the death of Kikibee, owner of Kikibee restaurant.
Adomah is said to have behaved strangely at Joof’s apartment, and she and her friend rushed him (Kikibee)to the hospital, but he allegedly died shortly. -GNA
