Ashfoam, Okaikoi South Health Directorate organise free health screening for residents
Ashfoam Ghana, in collaboration with the Okaikoi South Health Directorate over the weekend organised a free health screening exercise in the North Industrial Area.
The event, which was also supported by the Rotary Club of Accra-Dzowulu and Accra-Tesano featured screening for Malaria, HIV, TB, and Blood Pressure (BP) among other essential health metrics.
It formed part of Ashfoam Ghana’s commitment to its corporate social responsibilities.
A public health nurse from the Kaneshie Polyclinic, Josephine Kumah, emphasised the critical importance of regular health screening during an interview with the Ghanaian Times on the sidelines of the exercise, adding that early detection of diseases like Tuberculosis (TB) and HIV significantly improved treatment outcomes, prevented disease progression and potentially life-threatening complications.
Adding to the discourse, Mr Joe Ampem-Darko, Head of Marketing and Communication at Ashfoam Ghana, emphasised Ashfoam’s belief that a healthy populace contributes to vibrant economic growth, stating “the health of the populace is important to us because it is only when people are healthy that they can patronise businesses.”
He expressed gratitude to the Rotary Clubs of Accra Dzorwulu and Accra Tesano for their collaborative efforts, as well as to the Okaikoi Health Directorate for its invaluable support in organising the successful health screening exercise.
Anthony Amponsah, a beneficiary of the free health screening expressed gratitude to Ashfoam Ghana for the opportunity, adding that he came along with his whole family for the screening.
President of the Rotary Club of Accra-Dzorwulu, Mrs Beatrice Baiden, stated that the main objective of the Rotary Club was to unite people to take action to create lasting change across the globe.
