Bagliga pupils receive GH¢50,000 learning materials donation

Pupils of Bagliga Presbyterian Primary School in Tamale on Thursday received assorted learning materials donated by the Chief Executive Officer of Takara Bigiza Company Limited, Tony Mahama Paa Oluu.
The items, valued at about GH¢50,000, included English and Mathematics textbooks, exercise books, shoes, uniforms, pencils, pens, crayons and erasers.
The donation forms part of the company’s efforts to promote teaching and learning in schools across the Tamale Metropolis, particularly within the Tamale South Constituency.
Presenting the items at a brief ceremony in Bagliga, Mr Paa Oluu said his outfit had undertaken similar interventions over the past 10 years to support education in deprived communities.
He explained that giving back to society, especially to schoolchildren, formed part of his commitment to ensuring that vulnerable children in underserved areas receive the education they deserve.
He urged parents and teachers to continue working hard to groom the pupils, whom he described as the future leaders of the country.
The CEO also encouraged parents to prioritise quality education for their children and advised the pupils to study hard to make their parents proud and secure a better future.
The Headteacher of the school applauded the CEO and his team for the intervention, saying the items had arrived at the right time. He assured the donors that the school would monitor their use closely to ensure they were kept in good condition.
Mayama Ziblim, Magaziya of the Bagliga community, who spoke on behalf of parents, praised the CEO for the gesture. She said the community would continue to pray for him and his team, asking for Allah’s guidance and blessings for the company.
