Bole-Bamboi MP donates sewing machines to constituents
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole- Bamboi Constituency in the Savannah Region, Alhaji Sulemana Yussif has donated 30 sewing machines to the Dressmakers and Tailors Association in Bole.
The items worth GHc60,000 was from the MP’s share of the Common Fund.
Alhaji Yussif who made the donation in Bole stated that the donation was meant to aid the beneficiaries to expand their businesses.
He emphasised that it was important to support and assist the constituents especially the youth with tools and equipment to lead self-supporting lives.
Alhaji Yussif advised the dress makers and tailors in the constituency to take their businesses seriously by adopting measures to entice more customers and clients to improve livelihoods.
He admonished the leadership of the Association to continue to remain united and focus so as to make good use of the machines and not serve as decorating items in their rooms.
The Chairman of the Dressmakers and Tailors Association, Masata Alhassan thanked the MP for his gesture and assured that the MP’s assistance had come at the right time as most of the members of the Association were planning to acquire new machines.
He said the donation would afford them the opportunity to engage more youth who were willing to learn dressmaking and tailoring to enable them contribute meaningful to the growth and development of the area.
