The Ghana Boundary Commission has assured residents of border communities in the Jaman North District in the Bono Region that the government would work to address their security and development needsThe Commissioner-General of the Commission, Major General Anthony Ntem, said although the Commission was concerned about the security and developmental challenges confronting border communities, it lacked the financial resources to directly address all their needs.
He said addressing the challenges required collaboration among relevant ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), as well as other stakeholders.
“Boundary management is not only about pillars. It is also about the people living along the international boundaries. The Commission is very concerned about the developmental needs of border residents. We do not have funds to directly address all your needs,” he said.
“However, everything discussed would be part of our report to Government for intervention through the relevant ministries,” he added. Read More
